    Hi Kris,

Your website is a real revelation! It’s so hard to find good information on Chinese Android mobile phones.

Can you let me know where you get your specifications from? It seems that if you find what appears to be the same phone on a few different websites that the specifications are all different. How do I know what the actual specifications are? Do they genuinely vary by distributor, or are there just lots of mistakes being made?

For example, is there an official manufacturer’s website for the Hero H5500 where I can view the actual specifications? The specifications on your website (CPR) vary from that on the Fastcardtech (FCT) website as follows:

    CPR: RAM : 512 MB / ROM : 4G
    FCT: RAM : 576MB / ROM : 512MB

CPR: Dual Camera / Back 8.0 mega pixel / Front 0.3 mega pixel, supports Skype Video Calls / Supports video recording of 3GP 720P (1280×720) with sound, time depends on storage.
FCT: 5.0Mega Pixel Camera with Auto focus and Flash light / Dual cameras,5.0 Mega pixel camera for Picture & Video capability

    CPR: ?
FCT: Screen color support: 16 million colors

    CPR: Wi-Fi : IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, supports Wi-Fi hotspot
    FCT: WIFI:802.11b/g wireless internet

    CPR: GSM: 900/1800/1900MHz / 3G: 2100MHz
    FCT: GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz / 3G: 900/2100MHz

    CPR: 122 x 69 x 10 mm
    FCT: 126 x 65.2 x 12.5 mm

    CPR: 143.0g with battery
    FCT: 115g (1 phone + 1 battery)

    CPR: Li-ion Battery 1950 mAh
    FCT: Lithium Battery 1650mAh

    I hope you can help!

    Thanks,

    Brendan.

    1. Hi Brendan,

Thank you for pointing that out. It seems that I have forgotten to update this post. I made this post when Hero H5500 was on pre-sale and accurate information about the phone that time was a little hard to find. I referred to other Chinese websites that had the information. I meant to update it once more information came out but I just totally forgot about it. Now I have updated the specs and I followed Fastcardtech’s information since I am referring to the Hero H5500 they are selling.

As you may have noticed, some phones have different specifications when you refer to other websites. The truth is, finding the real specifications is tricky when it comes to Chinese phones that are manufactured by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), or those manufacturers hired by companies that do not have their own factories, to build phones for them. For all we know, all of the different specifications may be correct. I have noticed that certain Chinese phones have different manufacturers and distributors. I don’t know why but it seems to work like that in China. These phones from different manufacturers have slightly different specs but the same appearance and probably with the same brand and model name. You can even order cellphones from them with your own name as the phone’s brand! I myself have not fully understood their system yet.

I also believe that some websites commit mistakes when posting the specifications of the phones. I try my best to avoid those mistakes so I search the internet for the best possible sources of information. I usually go to the phone’s official website if they have any. Most of them are in Chinese language so I had to translate them first. For the company Hero, unfortunately, I have not found their company’s official website or their company’s information. So if I have to recommend a phone to you, I would suggest you take a look at ZOPO ZP100 instead. This phone looks very similar to Hero H5500. Even though ZOPO also does not have their own factory for building their own phones yet, they do have a research and development department. They continuously develop software updates for their phones, which they provide to their customers.

      Best Regards,
      Kris

HI. I have one of these, but am having trouble finding a protective wallet/case for it? Asked Dracotek, but they didn’t have any. Anyone know where I can find one?

    Thanks.

    Andy

    1. Hello! Try asking Fastcardtech. They have protective cases for the phones they sell. To visit their website, click here.
