Huawei unveiled its new quad core Android phone, the Ascend D Quad and its dual core cousin Ascend D1 at the Mobile World Congress 2012. Ascend D Quad is said to be the world’s fastest smartphone. Yu Chengdong, Huawei’s Senior Vice President did not disclose the specific configurations of the phone. He just described it as the world’s most powerful smartphone, which uses a 1.5 GHz quad-core K3 V2 processors which is made by Hisilicon.
Huawei Ascend D Quad shares a slim but slightly chunkier 8.9 mm profile compared to its Ascend P1 predecessors. This Android 4.0 handset sports a 4.5-inch 720 x 1280 pixel display, 8.0MP back camera, Dolby 5.1 surround sound, support for LTE and an 1800mAh battery bolstered by a proprietary energy management software. The smartphone will certainly challenge the best devices on the smartphone market, like the iPhone and the yet to be released Samsung Galaxy S III.
The Ascend D1 is expected to hit the shelves in May this year while the Ascend D Quad in June.
