Mobile phone manufacturer Huawei will be launching its latest flagship smartphone, the Huawei Ascend P8, on April 15 according to reports. Some information about the design and specifications of the new phone has been circulating, including “leaked” photos that seem to entice phone enthusiasts but nothing has been made official as of yet.
What we know about the Huawei P8
Leaked photos of the schematic drawings of Huawei Ascend P8 reveal that it has a 6.6 mm thickness. The dimensions are said to be 144.9 x 71.9 x 6.6 mm. It will also have a larger display of 5.2 inches compared to its predecessor, the Ascend P7 (5.0-inch).
At the back, the P8 will mount a 13 megapixel OIS camera with a dual LED flash. A fingerprint scanner below the camera similar to that of the Ascend Mate7 is also suggested on the drawings. The phone will likely use a 2600mAh battery.
One notable change is that the loudspeaker is placed at the bottom, instead of the usual location at the back as can be seen with its predecessors. It is seen as an improvement to prevent reduction of sound when the phone is placed on its back.
Huawei P8 will utilize its own 64-bit octa core Kirin 930 chipset. It will run on 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM. The display resolution will be Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels).
Official specifications of the phone should be announced on April 15 this year.
