Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus discontinued
Bad news for Xiaomi fans. Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus has been cancelled. Previous reports circulated that there will be a large version of the Mi 6, named the Mi 6 Mas, which will be released in June. But according to reliable sources, Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus has been discontinued. The company will instead release the big screen smartphone Xiaomi Mi Note 3 in the second half of the year.
According to the sources, Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus has been cut off by the company due to undisclosed reasons. The expected release of Mi Note 3 in September to October this year could be the reason why Mi 6 Plus was cancelled. Both the Mi 6 Plus and the Mi Note 3 will probably have similar features.

Understandably, launching the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus prior to the Mi Note 3 would have been impractical. The Mi Note 3 is rumored to be a high-end device. Allegedly, the Mi Note 3 will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 upgraded version (MSM8998SG) CPU with up to 8GB of RAM! The 5.7-inch mobile phone will mount a 2K display with OLED panel. It will be available in two variants. One will have 128GB ROM, while the other will mount 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone will also carry a huge-capacity 4,070mAh battery. With these specs coupled with other components, Xiaomi Mi Tandaan 3 is expected to be priced similar to the Mi 6.
The news may not be so bad after all. With the rumored specs of the Xiaomi Mi Note 3, the release of the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus would have been unnecessary. Fans can now anticipate to purchase a big-screen Xiaomi flagship phone in the third quarter of the year with a different name, Xiaomi Mi Tandaan 3.
