Xiaomi Mi6 to be released soon
Xiaomi fans have now more reasons to be excited about. Even though Xiaomi just announced Xiaomi 5C, Redmi 4X and Surge S1 SoC a few days ago, they were not done just yet. They saved the best for last – the Xiaomi Mi6 smartphone.
Chinese sources have reported that Xiaomi is expected to release next month its flagship Mi6 phone, specifically on April 16. It will become the world’s first smartphone equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The latest chip from Qualcomm was announced last November 17, 2016. It features 10nm FinFET process, Kryo 280 octa-core CPU, Adreno 540 GPU, UFS 2.1 / SD 3.0 storage, HDMI 2.0, Bluetooth 5.0, H.265/HEVC 10-bit video decoding/encoding for 4K at 60fps, and Quick Charge 4.0.
The report also mentioned that the Mi-6 will carry the full version of Snapdragon 835. It features a 5.2-inch LCD display, 2.5D curved glass and ceramic body design. Xiaomi Mi6 will also use a Sony IMX386 sensor in its main camera. This same camera can be seen in the Sony Xperia XZP, which is dubbed as “predictive” with ultra high-speed continuous shooting (960fps) and other advanced functions.
Xiaomi will release a number of versions of the Mi 6. The 4GB RAM + 32GB ROM and 4GB RAM + 64 GB ROM editions will cost around the 1999 yuan range. Meanwhile, a higher-spec ceramic version with 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM version will be priced around 2,500 yuan.
