Hi =), how is that phone comparing to the jiayu G3?

    1. Hello!
The processor should be better than Jiayu G3’s since Small Chili is already on NVIDIA Tegra3 1.5 GHz Quad-core CPU. The other specs are really impressive, comparable to Jiayu G3. But we won’t know for sure until it is released.

do you know what its release date? is it worth waiting or it is enough to wait for the g3… i dont want to wait too much coz i need some good smartphone >.<

        1. The release date of this phone is not yet known. For me, it would be enough to wait for the G3. It already has great specs.

    Hi :)

Why, why a tegra 3 be in pair with an old Adreno 203 ? Adreno 203 is for really really low cost phones apparently :(

Can be a bad news for a wonderful tegra 3 phone under 200$

    1. Hello! The specs are not sure yet. I got it from an online shop. I’ll try to do more research on it. I’ll update my post once I have more info.

Tegra3 SoC with Adreno 203 GPU… There might be a small mistake in the hardware specifications.

    1. Hi! You may be right. There may be some errors with the specs. Information about this phone is very limited and I only got the specs from an online shop. I’ll research more about it. Thanks for pointing that out!

Tegra NEVER Comes With Adreno GPU. If It IS Tegra It Has A ULP GEFORCE GPU (Which This Phone WONT Have Tbh As Tegra 3 Is Too Expensive) But If It Comes With Adreno 203 Than It Will Have A DUAL CORE Cortex A5 (Which It Will Have To 99% Likeliness).

It Technically Doesn’t Even Have Quadcore As Two Of The Cores Aren’t Application Processors. They Can Get Away With Saying Quadcore As TWO Are Application Processors (Cortex A5), ONE Is A GPU Core (Adreno 203) And One Is A Baseband Processor Core (Hexagon).

But Even Being A Dualcore It Has Near Galaxy Nexus Spec And For That Price Is Still A Bargain.

Come To Think Of It, I Don’t See A Reason For Manufactures To Switch To Qualcomms Adreno GPU/CPU If Mediatek’s Offering Has Worked So Well Before…. So It Quite Likely Be A MT6575 Or A 6577.

      1. Mediatek has found a lot of success with their powerful, low-cost, highly efficient CPUs. I would love to see a quad core Mediatek CPU real soon!

    1. Hi! Thanks for the technical information. Google is marketing their Nexus 7 tablet at $199 and it has NVIDIA Tegra 3. It leads me to think that Tegra 3 is cheaper than most people think it is.

As with the GPU, I am not sure with Adreno 203. It is the only available information for now.

But I agree with you. With its price, it is indeed a bargain. I am going to buy one or two of these when it hits the stores.

The Costs To Create The Nexus 7 Was $181 And They’re Trying To Sell It At $199 Or More. Not Much Profit There But I Think They’re Trying To Make It A Low Cost Success As The Kindle Fire Was. Nonetheless, If I Had To Choose Between A Single Sim Single Core Phone With Sub Galaxy S1 Spec And A Dualsim Dualcore+ Phone With Galaxy Nexus Spec In The Same Price Range It Would Be A No-Brainer :)

Sorry For The Continuous Double Posts But I’ve Just Realized That Wikipedia Has Information On A SoC With Adreno 203 GPU.
If You Go Down To The “Snapdragon S4” Section You Will See That The First Two Chipsets Come With Adreno 203.

    1. No problem PINJ! Thanks for the information you shared! I also found an interesting article about Tegra 3 here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tegra. It seems the GPU should be ULP GeForce. But we don’t know yet if NVIDIA modified the Tegra 3 to work with an Adreno 203 GPU. I guess we’ll see in the coming weeks.

there are 2 pictures showing 2 smartphones. The picture with the red smartphone is very nice, the other smartphone (the balck one), is very ugly. wich picture is the right one?

I think that the battery is too weak with only 1630 mAh??

    1. Hi! The pictures and specs posted above is not yet final. The red one for sure is the dual core version which is already released in the market. The black one should be the quad core version but it is not clear if that would be the final appearance. The phone is currently under development. There has been no clear information on the release of the quad core phone yet. Once new details will come out, I will update my post.

Hi, I’m new to these chineese phone. I don’t know much about technicality but i’m still very interested in this chili phone. Are these chineese phone realible ? I don’t want to have to buy a phone every year.

I’ll need a phone on november 11th since my contract with actual provider will end and I really want to get rid of them…. do you think it will be out ?
If not, is there any other phone with similar spec at a similar price ?

Last question, will this phone work in Canada ( phone line & data ) ?

    1. Hello! I don’t know the quality of this Chili phone since the company is new to producing cellphones. I believe this phone is only their second phone, the first one being the dual core Chili which was released earlier this month. I have not yet read any feedback of the quality of their phones.

There is no release date yet for the quad core chili. If you cannot wait for it, you may want to check out Jiayu G3 or Newsmy Newman N1. GSM in Canada will certainly work on these phones since they are quad band. For 3G (WCDMA), these phones support 850/900/1900/2100 MHz according to some sources. Check your local telecom network if it supports these 3G frequencies.

    Hi Kris,

Some of the phones you have listed here are having great specs. Can u tell me from where i can buy any of these phones in Guangzhou or Shanghai? I would like to try a small chili xiaolajiao quad core OR a Lenovo model.

    1. You can buy these phones at Shenzhen. This is the place to be for Chinese smartphones.

Does this phone call Beidow Little Pepper? Does it Russian language?

    1. Hello Dmitry! Yes this phone is the same as the Beidou Little Pepper. However, I don’t know if it has Russian language. You can request online shops to install Russian language if it does not have it.

    Hi Kris,

What do you think about this phone?
Compared to Jiayu G4, which one is the best?

    1. Hi David! The new version of this phone has come out: XiaoLaJiao LA-Q1 / XiaoLaJiao XLJ Q1. Well, I believe Tegra3 CPU performs better than MT6589 so I give a slight edge to XiaoLaJiao LA-Q1 in terms of performance. But Jiayu G4’s specs are also topnotch. It is dual SIM while XiaoLaJiao Q1 is only single SIM. Its CPU, MT6589, is more efficient in power management and heat dissipation than Tegra3. And it costs much less.
